Annette Meeks: Of course there's still fat to trim

Annette, in this column, lists off some projects that don't make her too happy. I think its because she doesn't like Rep. Oberstar in general.

However, she expertly did not talk about the earmarked funds for Highway 610 ($17mil) or Northstar Rail ($80mil). Why? Because she knows better than to oppose popular projects that would affect suburbanites. There were probally funds for the south metro in the bill too, I don't remember. (I read through the whole list once, its out there, go find it and look)

Not all earmarks were for pork projects. Saying that the full list of $25 billion was to pork is absurd.

If we can live without 610 and Northstar Rail in the next 10 years. Perhaps we can live without improvements to the entire metro transportation system too, right, Annette?
